Material as memory

Cast metal remembers the hand. Raw wool remembers the weather.

We work with materials that keep a record of what happened to them. A pressed wax model leaves a thumbprint in the bronze. An unlined coat takes the shape of the shoulders that wore it.

This is the weight a thing earns only with time, and it is the one quality that cannot be added at the end.
